Since it is Thanksgiving, I feel that I owe the world a cheesy entry about what I'm thankful for this year. So here it is in no particular order:
I am thankful for...
my roaring 20s and that I am spending them single.
my three healthy grandparents.
Chinese food.
accomplishing the Life Goal of going to NYC.
tortellini.
turkey goodness.
puppies.
good answers.
being able to work to excess while I'm young.
plenty.
appreciative students.
unanswered prayers.
Serenity.
family (even though they've raised my blood pressure).
health insurance.
paid holidays.
home.
books.
articles.
blogs.
friends.
a car that runs.
everything else I may have forgotten to be thankful for right now.
And tomorrow, I will rise before the chickens and go off to worship at the altar of capitalism, AKA Target, for the holiday season opener. Have a happy Thanksgiving!
Posted by LoWriter at November 24, 2005 08:27 PMI am also very grateful for numerous things... and I have to laugh at your worshipping at the altar of capitalism. My mother and I committed a sin today by shopping at Big Lots! ON Thanksgiving - that's right now they have things you can do on the big T-Day. I do celebrate this fact, tho I feel badly for the workers. But we spents lots of money, and they get double pay...
Posted by: 10lees at November 24, 2005 11:45 PMsince i'm home for the holiday, i feel it's sacrilige to do anything but bake cookies, watch movies and drink lots of coffee & wine. and, i am thankful that this ritual never has to change. :o)
Posted by: dr gonzo at November 25, 2005 03:18 PMI've often said that I can be bought and I'm not that expensive. I get to help pick out my Christmas presents, and I am getting a kick butt 5 qt. crock pot for $18. :) So, don't feel bad about Big Lots, 10.
Also, I am halfway done with my Christmas shopping, and I had just barely started before we left today. My goal is to have it completed after next weekend. I feel that this is lofty, but do-able.
Dr. G-- I envy you.
