Reunion from Hell

Well, I went to my 10 year reunion on Saturday. There's something I never need to do again. I purposely avoided most of the activities, opting only to go to the dinner, which was wise, considering that by 7, we were clock watching.

You know, I never liked high school, and when even the people who you liked are jerks, I think it's time to jump ship.

Therefore, I will never go to another class reunion again. I might be talked into an all-school reunion, which was not bad when I went last time. For the most part, though, I have pretty much decided that there was nothing for me there when I went to school there, and there is nothing there for me now.

So there you have it. The answer to the question of whether or not you can possibly have anything to say to people after all that time has passed is no, no you cannot.

THANK YOU for being the first reunion attendee to say this... i really do not wish to go to my reunion in september and i have a few of my long-time buddies haranguing me about it. i too hated high school. WHY do i want to go back? all of my crushes from yore turned into grade "A" douche bags. all of the people that were nice to me are still my friends. sigh.

I think my 'friends' from high school ignore me enough online to fulfill my desires. I have no wish to be 'ignored' in person.

Plus, I didn't have any crushes in my grade, they were all a grade or two above me. Now if they were going to be there I'd be interested, but not interested enough to go!

Speaking of - got my invite to my ten year reunion today!

I made sure that the reunion planners didn't get my address when I moved. I don't even remember high school.

LOL. I like the strategy of not giving them your forwarding address. :) They found me via Facebook, though, so there's that.

Oh, they found me on fbook but I ignore their (all ex HS classmates) friend requests. They get the hint after the third try or so.

High school was a NIGHTMARE for me - alot like the Joker on Batman - if you want to know. After my hubby was tragically killed - I've only gone to ONE reunion and you know what - most were very friendly - as I was so HATED by everyone and then a tragedy happens - it gives them alittle of a heart - I probably won't go again though. But staying away for 30 years definitely helped! Glenn - my hubby graduated the same year. So it was fun that way and we went back to Fbks ... I think I was busy doing other things during the 5th, 10th, 20th - etc.
Glad you survived your 1st. - give it about 50 years and then go back and wow the 3 that ARE LEFT! HA!
