you were sick. it's ok. no biggie on that side of things. reading is exhausting. i will attest to that as i'm currently indulging in Salman Rushdie. you can check out my books on my blog.

Lo - if you are feeling low b/c you arent reading as much, you can always go rent a bunch of plays and movies based on books. that's almost as good!!! c'mon - 6 hours of P & P is wayyyy better than reading P & P. ;o)

I have to concur with that P&P illustration, also witty plays like The Importance of Being Earnest and An Ideal Husband are much better than reading Oscar Wilde's plays.

I will have to admit that I feel bad about putting my reading list up as it was quite extensive. That's what happens when you spend about two hours a day on a train.

Well I finally joined the club and read Anne of Green Gables, followed by Anne of Avonlea and Anne of the Island. All of these were great reads, very simple, but engaging. I always found it hard to get into the first book because the first part is exactly the same as the movie. I have to say, the books are better! Especially since the bundle so much of the second books into the same characters, whereas there is a wide variety of characters in the books. I am still reading through, I am in Anne of the Windy Poplars now. Still quite good.

Falling Angels, by Tracy Chevalier. I've owned this book for a while and wanted to read it for even longer. I was a little put off by it's format the first few times I started reading, but once you get over that it is quite good (and the format contributes greatly to the story). So many different perspectives, but even though she starts off with a couple of male perspectives it is interesting to note, by the end of the book they aren't there. They are almost a way for her to seperate from the female perspectives just a bit in the beginning. It was a great story, about women's roles / liberation and coming of age.

Naruto, Magna #11. Ok, so the one anime show I am addicted to is Naruto. I finally gave in and bought some of the Magna's, same artwork, but the show expands more on what is happening and it makes a little more sense sometimes. It is definetly different to read from left to right, as the Magna was originally done in Japanese, the book even opens left to right and reads through the scenes left to right.

I can't remember what else, if anything, I have read, but it was mostly fluff this month. Here's to another great month of fluff!!

Hey Champ, no worries on the reading, you'll bounce back I'm sure. I've been toying with the notion of making a reading club on an offshoot website for the Blog that we do and am looking for people to join. Prolly start it off with just a book a month or so and then open it up so people could put as many comments and threads towards the book as possible while they go through it.

Don't know if you or any of you would be interested in joining it but it could prove fun and worthwhile. Also, if anybody has interests as to the nature of our first book, I'd be veeeeeery interested in what you all have to say.

Okay well chin up. 10, you should like walking in the rain as it should bring you back to your fine British roots (or at least the semester you spent as a Welshwoman). The best is yet to come.
