Shhh

All right, everybody, look here. I am not going to Serenity (and no, I'm not linking to it you pansy) until next weekend. So, I don't want to hear anything about it. I'm going into internet hibernation for awhile. (I may update my blog this weekend, but if I do, it will not be about Serenity. It will be the September book list, and you will like it.)

Now that that's done, let me just spend a moment explaining to you why I hate the producers, writers, and network carriers of Lost and Alias.

A) While I did partially take Wednesdays off to be a part of writing group, I also partially took Wednesdays off so I could watch Alias. As one of the last loyal fans, I think that should mean something. I add booo to your overall score for moving it to Thursdays at 7:00. Boooo has been added.

B) We're only into the second episode of the season, and we are already recycling footage on Lost. I realize that flaming torches are expensive, but if you're already over budget, you're in trouble. Because I was ill and having some quality couch time before heading to bed, I got to watch the replay of the season premiere and the second episode back-to-back. The second episode began with the cliffhanger from the end of the first episode AND ENDED ON THE SAME CLIFFHANGER. I feel that this sums up the entire history of the show. Boooo.

Clearly, I would have been better off spending my quality couch time with some other TV show or perhaps just plain going to bed as I had planned. At any rate, the only reason I was home was that I was sick, so in the future, perhaps I'll watch a DVD.

oops, i forgot Lost was on last night. so was the OC. ah well. instead, i went to the Y, chatted with my roomie and watched 2 episodes of 6 feet under. i gather, Lo, that i made the correct choice?

I support your "boo" for both "Lost" & "Alias." Instead of wasting my time on those shows last night, i watched another thrilling episode of "Americas Next Top Model."
Pathetic?? Who, me? Perhaps...but at least i didn't see rerun footage. :)

Mel, America's Next Top Model is, sadly, quality. And I have to admit when VH1 runs the season in it's entirity on a Saturday before the season finale I will be watching - all day.

Lo, can I just say it is hard to interest a certain boyfriend in a show when the second show is basically a repeat of the first? It was craptastic, I thought at least they would move past the cliffhanger during the second half of the show, but noooooo.... I agree with your score of boo and I would say I learned NOTHING about the show. I mean even the Walt flashback was already done, we didn't need to know he gave away his kid twice - the first time was enough - we GOT THE DAMN POINT!! ARRRRR!! It's enough to make me stop watching...

At least I had some quality sex and the city on TBS, it's edited, but at least I don't have to pay for HBO...

HBO has Rome, which I'm enjoying.

Otherwise, I would heartily recommend the "Carnivale" DVDs, 6 feet Under is also fantastic.

I hate you rhett, just because you get to watch Rome and I don't.... is it any good??

Posted by: 10less without Rome at September 30, 2005 02:14 PM

Mel-- I honestly was checking out America's Top Model myself from time to time. And I didn't miss anything.

Dr. G-- Yes, you made the right decision.

10lees-- Yeah, I can imagine how hard it would be to interest anyone in that garbage that I saw on Wednesday. I am so done with that show forever. They're never going to tell us what's going on.

rhett-- I have no idea, but I will have to check some of those shows out.

Rome is interesting. I'm not as drawn to it as I was to the first season of six feet under, but then it's a really different kind of show. It's facinating to have a living example of roman cultueral interactions. Plus it's fun to see all the paintings and clothing of the roman citizens in something other than a museum setting. Much of the interior decorating is actually quite lovely.

That said, it's a strange show in that the protagonists constantly waver between being likable and despicable. Personally, my favorite character is a low caste soldier/drunk.

and so it would be!
