Boooo

The new campaign to slow down the speeds on MN roads gets a booo added to its total score. Here's why: I hardly ever go more than ten over the speed limit, and if I do, it's by complete accident, but I am constantly being passed like I am standing still by nearly everybody else out there. Possibly, if you're looking for someone to blame as far as road deaths, you should start pulling over the people who are driving 90 mph and leave me alone. But they won't do that because they can't catch those people. They drive too fast. So slow down, friends, if you don't want your insurance to go up. At least until July 6. Then you can continue to do whatever you want.

Seriously, what is with them advertising that the program is over on July 6th?! That doesn't make much sense really. It must be all the time the budget will allow for law enforcement to you know... do their job.

well, the deal is that they took a survey and cops usually pull people over who are going plus 10 over. so they want the cops to start going for the little guys too. i guess they need a bigger christmas bonus? i counted 4 cops while i was driving around yesterday. yay.

I have a real problem with authority in any form. Anyone who tries to tell me what to do is automatically on my hate list. I don't see that cops are pulling anyone over. I am constantly being passed by people who are weaving in and out of traffic at 90+ MPH. I usually figure that I am taking my life in my hands by spending at least an hour on the roads each day.

That's it... when I drive drunk this summer, it's gonna be RIGHT AT the speed limit. THAT way, I won't kill anyone... right? Isn't that what they say?

Bastards.

did you know, it's cheaper to pay off a drunk driving ticket than a speeding ticket for just 5 miles over??? well, then again, you do need to reinstate your license, which is a whopping $700. but still - the freaking ticket is cheap. is that right?

Usually, though, when they're not running stupid campaigns, they'll let you off for speeding, but not for drunk driving. Unfortunately.

HA! I've been let off for it before... SHHHH.
I wasn't allowed to keep driving, but they didn't haul me in... I was underage, too.

Got lucky. Scared the shyt out of me, though.
