A Link to Make You Think

I'm going to write more later, (I promise; I promise!) but here is a link any Chirstians out there in the audience should check out and consider.

I signed it. I think it's time to say that Christianity doesn't belong to a party. It belongs to Jesus. (Cheesy as that sounds, it does.)

Lo, this is the best find of the month. Oh, it's the first. Okay, it's the best find of last month. Seriously, check it out.

Yeah. Some of us have no spare time on our hands at all anymore (2 jobs, articles, proofreading, social life, books, church, fan fic reading, the fam, cleaning, the laundry, trying to read about html so that this site doesn't continue to stagnate visually and so that I don't have to beg Ten to fix it for me), so our posting time has become a little limited. I did add some other new links to the side board, though. I agree that this is the best find so far. Many thanks to my friend Rich for shooting it my way. I was starting to feel like I was a lone ranger until I found the Sojourners' link.

Well I checked out the link the other day and I had a comment on it. I think it definetly leaned towards being Democratic... basically they were saying if you are a Christian you shuold be a Democrat. Which is true if you believe that government should be involved in all aspects of life. I guess I think they should have gone a step further in their questions and asked 'Do you believe government/laws should regulate this action/behavior?'. Because that is generally what sets Republicans and Democrats apart, their view of who should be regulated and to what degree. This happens with different issues ie Reps. want to regulate marriage more than Dems and Dems want to regulate environment more than Reps.

Anyway, you know that I definetly don't think that you have to be a Republican to be a Christian and that the far right is wacky... so don't be offended, that is just my only critism. It's a good message and a good site regardless.

I think it's more a reaction by those of us who feel that we've been told we aren't good Christians unless we vote Republican. (Yes, I've been told that and by more people than just my father.) I don't think the site was saying that to be a Christian you have to be a Democrat. I think they were trying to point out that you can be a more liberal thinker and a Christian at the same time. (Even though you don't agree with all the beliefs Democrats hold dear, either.)
